confession time: on june 4th (3 DAYS), i have an ICL procedure (eye surgery like Lasik, but instead of removing anything, they’re INSERTING a permanent contact lens into my eyeball, while awake, n w instruments holding my eyes open - look up eye speculum if u want nightmares). ik im in v good hands n well informed / prepared, but i gotta admit, im still (rightfully) nervous abt it. what im most concerned abt is the recovery, the only factor the dr can’t account for is how i heal. i like to think of myself as a fast healer, but my body has not been in the best condition recently. im supposed to be able to see rt when I wake up n ppl usually return to their normal activities ~ day 3 (+ have to use drops / eye is still healing for ~ 2 weeks). a lot of my fam has had Lasik / similar procedures (shitty eyes run deep lol), but im rlly worried im gonna be in a lot more pain / discomfort. i do have a high pain tolerance, but even having an eyelash in ur eye or putting a contact in backwards is painful / feels HUGE. plus i need to inform them tht i need more anesthesia than usual. when i get fillings / anything like that, i usually just count but this is 100% more nerve racking. any advice on wht to think abt DURING the procedure? im keeping a positive mindset n manifesting the best but ill have ~ 30 mins alone w my thoughts in a brain tht really likes to fuck with me. plzz wish me luck!!🤞🍀 👨⚕️👉🔪👁️👄👁️
