I love going outside barefoot to ground myself. The fresh air helps a ton, as well as listening to the birds and watching nature do its thing. I’ve been getting into gardening lately too, I enjoy sitting there and pruning the leaves and seeing how much progress my plants have made. My therapist also taught me a breathing technique that seems to work for me as well. I close my eyes, breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 3, and breathe out for 6 seconds. She learned that exhaling for at least 6 seconds is the key to relaxing your nervous system. I breathe normally a few times between the deep breaths and do it as many times as I need to.
