Mindfulness really helps when i get urges to use. Breathing my way through the urges rather than away from them feels much more solidifying and sustainable than trying to ignore my urges or wish them away. It's difficult, to sit still with oneself when the compulsion to use something to escape is so strong. but everything is difficult anyway, whether i give in to an urge to use and repeat the cycle OR breathe my way through the urge.... i know the struggle i pick; the one back home to myself.
