Your new life really does cost you your old life. I sacrificed a lot to be here today; sober, as happy as i can be, doing something i love rather than something to occupy my days until my next smoke, my next huff, my next drink... i gave up a lot to be here; friends (even if they were bad for me then atleast the version of friends that i knew), shared spaces and hobbies, And i dont regret anything i walked away from to be on this journey for my wellness, for my inner child and healing. I paid for this new life, with my old life, and i dont want a refund.
